Who is this course for?
This course is designed for complete beginners or for those who have only been to a few classes.
Aim
To give you the knowledge needed to start your practice and take you further into a regular yoga practice.
I also aim to give you the confidence to not only be able to walk into any yoga class and know what to expect, but to do so knowing how to practice safely for your own body.
Content
The course incudes four 1.5hour classes, 1 each week. It also includes a pdf of reading material and resources each week, covering what we learnt in class and more.
We will be:
- Taking a shallow dive into yoga philosophy and learning about what yoga really is and why we do it.
- Learning the common base poses used frequently in yoga flow classes.
- Taking an indepth look at Sun Salutations.
- Looking at the different types of poses (Standing, Balancing, Prone, Supine, Seated, Inversions) and why we do them.
- Learning about Pranayama (Breath work) why we use it and how we can use it in our practice and daily lives.
- Learning about different styles of yoga.
- Learning how to adjust poses to our own bodys.
- Building up to an hour long flow class using everything we've learnt.
