Service Description

In Yin Yoga we practice long holds in complete stillness, allowing us to soften into the fascia. The Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds every organ, muscles, bone.. basically everything within our body. Working into the fascia allows our body to work more smoothly, imagine it like adding oil to a squeaky door! It can help increase mobility and work out aches and pains that don't seem to go away! The most important part of yin is to LISTEN to your body and try to fight against your ego telling you to push more, go further. In Yin we are hunting for the stretch but just the very start of the stretch, we want to be able to feel it but also relax into it, and be comfortable enough to hold for several minutes in stillness. I always say that Yin Yoga is one of the hardest practices to master. We used props to help us find that sweet spot, not too much, not too listen. Find the sensation then soften into it! You will need: 2 Yoga Blocks or Thick books 1 Yoga Bolster or 2 Pillows 1 Yoga Strap or belt/dressing gown tie/scarf (An eye mask is not essential but if you have one, bring it along) Held the 2nd Sunday of every month!
